In the past, European community countries have different requirements to the export products, it is very impossible for the products which made according to one country’s standards to sell in the market. As one part of elimination of trade barriers, CE certification was created. So the CE represent the conformity European. In fact, CE certification is also a abbreviation of phase of “European community” for many European countries. The English writing for European community is EC, the French is COMMUNATE EUROPEIA, Italian is COMUNITA EUROPEA, portuguese is COMUNIDADE EUROPEIA, Spanish is COMUNIDADE EUROPE and so on. So change the EC into CE, of course, we also can take the CE certification as CONFORMITY WITH EUROPEAN

The meaning of the CE sign is: the remark of the CE means the products which apply to the CE sign meet the main requirement of the European directives, and verify the product had already pass the relative acceptable procedure or the acceptable statement of manufacture that really become the passport to be allowed enter into the European community markets. some directives required that the industry products which not apply to the CE sign and found couldn’t meet the safety requirement couldn’t enter into the market, and the products which apply to the CE sign but found couldn’t meet the safty requirement charge to take back, disobey the directives continently

 

 

4、 CE certification mark haven’t prove quality qualification

CE composes the “main requirement” of the core of the European Directive, “Decision of new method of  technique concordance and standard” in European community May 7 1985(85/C136/01) has the special meaning for “main requirement “ of constituting and implementing directive purpose. This is the essential safety requirement that product doesn’t jeopardize human, animal, goods and not the general quality requirement.  Harmonization directive only stipulate the main requirement and general directive request the task of standard.

Products can attach CE certification mark when they meet the main requirement of relevant directive, not the general quality standard. So the exact meaning:  CE is safety qualification mark and not quality qualification mark. A kite attached CE certification mark doesn’t mean It can fly well but show it comply with safety stipulation.
